Well, hate to say it (but I did in an england/israel thread) we are just not good enough, we're too much up ourselves, we believe we're better than we actually are, we believe we have a right to win games because we're england, we employ managers who conform to a bland unispiring "safe style of football" which in actuality is devoid of "style", passion. technical ability and imagination.
To be blunt, we deserve everything we got, ultimately the buck stops with the manager - and I'll be surprised if either he doesn't resign or is shown the door but there again it wouldn't surprise either if the FA keep him on - the players too must shoulder the blame regardless of who they are, it just seems that putting a white shirt on turns good club players even world class players into brainless technique ridden halfwits!

England've got to get their act together fast.
I didn't watch the game (at work) but how can they lose? It's stunning, it's just stunning.
There were a couple of players out of injury but make no excuse you suppose to win the game or at least tie it

can i just ask why the hell did wright phillips get taken off at half time?? he was the best player on the park in th first half, mclaren hasnt a clue.

Ive just heard on five live that a meeting is being held tomorow.

judging by mclaren walking down the tunnel after the game i think he knows whats coming

SWP cannot cross a road for pete sake, its all good and well beating defenders, which he did very little in tonights match but he's another one of those many typical over rated English players - I thought he was crap to be honest, he may have "tried hard" but showed that he actually lacks any real quality.
Incomplete modern day winger - can beat the full back, cannot cross for shit.
England had a best player in the first half??? - please tell me of this game involving England having even one good player, I'd love to see it.

lol. i cant mate, coz knowone had a good game, and i dont know how lampard got man of the match, i actually didnt know he was playing until the second half.
was absoultely pathetic.

I know people will get the feeling I'm club bashing but I really aint.
Lampard was invisible in the second half, Gerrard was playing so deep his position was responsible for the massive gap inbetween the centre backs, Lampard and the front lot.
Croatia were technically better than us and deserved to hammer us - there was no formation, no tactics, it was like McClaren said - go and play, do whatever you want
Gerrard was also a pathtic captain on the night, I really dont understand why he ALWAYS tries to everyones job for them, rather than reminding players what their jobs are and encouraging them - it was just sheer hopeless bs.
