The Catalan side are locked at 0-0 and would have been a different proposition going into the second leg of the Champions League semi-final with a fit Ronaldinho in their ranks.
But he is injured, boss Frank Rijkaard said this week he expected the Brazilian to exit the Nou Camp at the end of the season and there is more than a hint of mystery surrounding how an apparently perfect club/player marriage has come apart at the seams.
Ronaldinho has hardly figured for Barcelona during a campaign which has clearly seen as rapid a disintegration in the relationship between the Spanish giants and their former golden boy as the speed of the Brazilian's fall from grace.
The brilliant playmaker - still only 28 - has been accused of poor form, lacking fitness and focus, and a fondness for the high life.
He'd still be brilliant imo.. i just think there has been a fall out tbh.
I think he was one of those transvestite hookers that the Brazilian Ronaldo was involved with.
I think Ronaldinho has lost the pasion for the game. Rijkaard has told him to cut out the fancy flicks and start trying to win games but Barca were at their ebst when Ronny was doing the silky skills
I think it has more to do with work ethic. Ronaldinho like Ronaldo, and Adriano before him seems to suffer from the Brazilian striker curse.
Great players with God given talent, who have never had to work hard to be better than their opponents. They like the night life and party a lot. The older you get the harder it is to burn the candle at both ends. None of them have the dedication to train and keep in shape even George Best was finished at United at 27.
I think it would be a big risk for some team to pay 31 million for him, who knows if he will ever resemble the player he was. You might get the odd great performance out of him, but over the course of a season, I think it would be a poor return on your investment.
Fame is a mask that eats into the face.

Spot on. No desire. Get fat, like to party, cant keep the body in shape and trail out.
But the Brazilians are class. Live fast and die young. Thats how the careers go, and if thats the way they want to do it why not?
And if clubs still want to pay 30 mil for em, then why not. More fool them.

That's stupid when he was doing his tricks thats when barca were playing at their best.
His tricks could win them a game.
Yeah his tricks and flicks have opened up defences time and time again in la liga and without Ronaldinho on his best game barcelona have lost a big part of their team!
Good point mate, they certainly have.
Will have to see what they do with the money they make for him IF they sell him which looks like is going to happen.
