This post explains who is likely to encounter problems with TvAnts, why some users are unable to receive the feed and how to fix it.
There is a limitation of 10 half-opened TCP/IP connections in Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), which is the reason why you don't get TvAnts to work for you at all. But this problem doesn't seem to effect computers in a network setup called LAN, even if they have SP2 installed. (Inquire with your Internet Service Provider if you don't know whether you are connected as a LAN user or not.)
Anyone running Windows XP with all the updates installed is likely to run SP2. The quickest way to confirm that you have SP2 installed is to click on Help ---> About Internet Explorer in your IE browser window and read the version information. It will display "SP2" as part of the version name.
Here is a great link that outlines several possible reasons for P2P streams disruption, including TvAnts:

The most important part is to install the patch and use it to increase your TCP/IP connections in SP2 to 100. (This patcher is programmed to increase them to 50, but that is not enough). Following are tips to executing the patcher successfully and avoiding confusion:
1. Click on Patch on item 5 to view the Downloads page.
2. Right-click on the Patcher version you want to download and select "Save Target As" from the instant menu. Save the download file to your desktop. (Most IE users will get an error if they left-click on the download link and not save the file.)
3. Unzip and Run the program EvID4226Patch.exe. It will open a Command Prompt window and stop a couple of times for your response. (See attached file for a complete run session of the Patcher where the limit was increased to 50 only. Remember, you want to increase it to 100 instead.) Follow these instructions:
a. Windows File Protection will pop-up with a warning. Click on Cancel/Abort and then YES. (Don't worry, the warning is just a normal safety procedure of Windows XP.)
b. When the prompt "Do you really want to change the limit to 50" appears, reply 'C' to change the limit to 100.
c. When the prompt "May these files be renamed until the end of patching?" appears, answer 'Y'.
d. Exit and reboot your system.
4. Open the TvAnts stream you want to watch from http://www.livefooty.doctor-serv.com
You can always change the TCP/IP connections in SP2 by running this Patcher EvID4226Patch.exe from your desktop folder and following the instructions above.
Note: If the stream still runs too slow you may do one of the following:
1. Make sure that none of the other conditions listed on the Troubleshooting Guide http://www.football4less.com/streams/tro...oting.html is disrupting.
2. Run TvAnts from Start ---> Programs, and add the following 4 entries under the Servers tab for both fields, Server Name and Address:
trackersport.serveftp.com
10.214.49.88
213.97.9.122
fanshoptv.no-ip.info
Finally, it is my experience that TVUplayer is an easier and superior program. You need to double-click on the channel you want to watch and make sure it turns blue with an arrow before the channel name. Refresh every time the stream slows down or get stuck. Double-click on the picture to change between full-small screen. After all the trouble of figuring TvAnts out and making it work, I am still watching the games on TVUplayer. I used TvAnts once as a backup program when TVUplayer was down. It appears that different players work best on different computers. Try them all and decide which stream and program is most reliable and serves you the best. (Every few days, the administrator of this site shuffles the streams around, adds and deletes some. Get familiar with them again every time they are changes.)
I hope you'll find this information helpful.
Best Wishes to All.
