*...:::The Ultimate Mac Guide:::...*
We have mac users on this website: This thread is developed specifically to helping mac users.
First, try Democracy. It has a lot channels. Not many sports. But alot of channels. Next, if you have a mac 10.3.8 or above, you can download X11, Open Darwin, and Darwine. These are free emulators for windowsing mac. Also, you could get the QEMU Emulator. You can actually install windows on your mac with this. It's very cool, and light-weight. Also, FLIP4WMV is a good program to install to watch streams, as well as Windows Media Player for Mac's. For now, though, here are the downloads. Democracy: http://www.getdemocracy.com/downloads/osx.php Note: Democracy is also available for Fedora, Windows, Ubuntu, Debian, Gentoo, etc. X11: The newest editions are on your installer cd. QEMU Emulator: http://www.kju-app.org/kju/index.php?p=d...8.1a35.dmg *** To install Win XP, you must obtain your own WIN XP Installer CD. The emulator does not provide it because that is illegal. *** Flip4WMV: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en Windows Media Player for Mac: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/otherproduc...ndowsmedia Open Darwin: http://www.opendarwin.org/downloads/7.2.....1.iso.bz2 Darwine: http://darwine.opendarwin.org/download.php Also, the best in "installing" a windows operating system on a mac is Virtual PC. Virtual PC 7 Final. Here is a link. If there is problem with it, PM me, and I'll sort it out. http://wiw.org/~chris/sw/Virtual%20PC%207%20Final.dmg There are some screenshots in the attachments if you want to see how it should look: ![]() ![]() ![]() Any questions or suggestions, don't hesistate to post! Mac minimum requirements
Just a note Mac Users.....you need a fast G4 at least to run windoze. Will run on a G3 in theory but too slow to get decent real time emulation. Also if you are not used to the Uncle Bill Gates way of doing stuff then you are in for a bumpy ride! I can see the horror in a mac user's eyes when he's faced with an .exe file! (I'm breaking out into a cold sweat now! As a user of 8 different macs (no pc's) this is one area where I certainly consider getting a cheap grey Gates box especially for LIVE FREE FOOTY!. Must be worth it! Bangin a £30 250 gig HD in and record off air and the job is done. I know us Mac users whine on about how great Macs are but on this occassion it is the only time I can honestly say stick to the PC.
Congratulations to Arsenalman on his 300th posting! Wooo |

Get a Windows Xp Disc. Setup up the config: Create a raw 6000 mb or so image file, that will be your pretend hard-drive. Select to boot from CD! Then start installing.
Too Woo: Nice job. And thanks for the acknowledgement. If there are any questions on any of my posts, or anything at all, e-mail me. Always ready to help a friend. Also, don't be afraid to rate me. Simply click on the number beside reputation.

RE: *...:::The Ultimate Mac Guide:::...*
Good advice. Democracy is kinda cool, though I haven't seen any football matches broadcast on it. I've noticed that there are now occasionally live streams via Real Player for MacOSX on this site. That's a great step forward, now we just need that as an option for all of the games!
Some of the other options listed here are a bit of a hassle to bother with unfortunately. My best advice for fellow Mac users would be to get a new Intel Mac and have Windows installed (**shudders**) on a partition that you can easily boot to to watch the streams. |

RE: Mac minimum requirements
Yes I couldn't agree with you more. I have a G5 isight running virtual pc with xp and 98se but they are slow and virtual isn't recommended for media. Virtual emulates a P2 processor. So unless you have an Intel Mac with bootcamp get a cheap pc for the beautiful game.

I agree, but on the new Intel architecture, it is much faster. You literally see the difference between Intel and Power PC.
