Shame, U/L Rangers. St petersburg were the better team.

Arshavin is very good in the final third, good vision and played some deadly balls that sliced open Rangers, played two for both goals.

His armband proved he was a red - Torres, Torres
You'll never walk alone it said - Torres, Torres

We bought the lad from sunny Spain
He gets the ball he scores again

Fer-nan-do Torres Liverpool's number 9.

Congratulations to Zenit and unlucky Rangers. Enjoyed the second half as the first half was a bit of a non event.
To be honest, there was only one winner as it seemed that Rangers had set their stall out for penalties.
The Russians played some really good football at times i felt and thoroughly deserved to win. Rangers gave their fans nothing really to shout about and made one good chance in the whole match. This style of football had got them this far and i guess they werent about to abandon it, but i think if they had been more adventurous they may have stood a better chance. Easy with hindsight I guess.
All in all, a thorough good cup run from Rangers, and unfortunate they just fell at the last hurdle, as did Celtic 5 years ago. Have done the Scottish league and Scottish football proud this year.

Best team won at the end of the day, Zenit played such attacking football they were all of Rangers. Well deserved. Unlucky Rangers though.

I liked their left winger can't remember his name, great talent.

RE: Rangers v Zenit St Petersburg - Uefa Cup Final 2008

A number of Rangers supporters in Manchester for the Uefa Cup final clashed with riot police after a big screenin Piccadilly Gardens in the city centre broke down.

Around 30 people were arrested in the city, including six held after a Russian fan was stabbed outside the City of Manchester stadium. He was stabbed in the back but his injuries were reported as non-life threatening.
