What do you think of the new addition to Benefica: Freddy ADu. I haven't been able to catch a match and was wondering how the young American was doing.

Seriously Freddy Adu is not even the best young player here from the States. J. Attidore is even better than him with same age

Adu is 18 and Attidore is 17. There is a legal age here in U.S which means you have to be 18 or over to play for a club outside of U.S.
So basically Adu was ready to go and Attidore needs to wait until he gets 18.

Adu had a blast when he dominated at World Cup 16 or under when he was only 14. After that he was just a decent player. I blame his coach for his failure at the MLS level. He didn't let Adu play his nature possition which is attacking midfielder. I also blame the media here for kissing his (_|_) too much. Even commercial trying to compare him with the one and only Pele. It's just pathetic to compare the king of soccer to a teenager kid and blow him up to 9th clouds. It's just simply stupid I bet half of these media people here don't even know who Pele is. It's good he has another chance in Europe and so far he's doing okay and his coach bring him slowly in which is good.
Attidore doesn't get hype as much as Adu and he starts to get better every games at Youth games and he blossom in MLS. Next year when he's 18, let's see how he does at Europe level when he gets call.
