RE: England Manager
Dont think any big name englishman wants the job.
Its bad enough having fans from the club you support roaring for your blood when results go against them.
To have a Whole nation screaming dogs abuse at you?
No Thanks

RE: England Manager
any1 english am sick of immigrants n foreigners as it is.
i think any english manager could do the job asong as thy playd ther rite team and had the passion to do well.
maclaren never seemed bothered and made some shocking decisions as far as team selections went. someone like stuart pearce would be great or alan shearer, ian wright to name a few who would be passionate about the job

RE: England Manager
"Dont think any big name englishman wants the job."
There is one??? - the Enlgish managers out there now, are not capable of managing at international level - forget the rollercoaster of Managing the England national side.
Mourinho said no - again. He wasnt offered the job like they did with Scolari last time, he withdrew himself after the interview.
Talks with Capello to start pretty soon - some rumours have it that Capello will be in place as England manager by the end of the week.
I wouldnt mind either of Capello or Lippi - yes there will be the language barrier at first, but that can sort itself out - both have experience of managing over-paid prima donnas and super-egoes - good track records.
The priority should be to find someone capable of managing at a high level first...he can work on passion later.
No current English manager fits the first part of the bill...just opening the bracket, I'm not even O'Neils biggest fan - good man manager, but you cant put him in the league of the above mentinoed 3 when it comes to football kowledge

RE: England Manager
You do have a point AllyRfc but lets hope Capello can handle the press... they have put plenty of managers off in the past.
One good thing is that he can't fully speak English yet, because that's why he aint even going to try and take an interview with the press properly in English because he knows they can twist anything he says or exaggerate it or whatever, which is a smart move really.

That's who I wanted. But I guess he wanted the day to day involvement with the players.

I was under the impression Mourinho turned it down or took himself out of the running by saying he didn't want the job.
