RE: Champions League Semi Finals 2008
With Chelski playing the 2nd leg at home, i think they'll do it.

Tough call with Barca and Manure.. great prospective for a game though.. both gonna be great game to watch Smile

RE: Champions League Semi Finals 2008
Both ties are still wide open and could go either way. I think Chelsea with the away goal at Anfield and their victory over United will be confident of advancing. Essien is a big player for them and should cause Chelsea to play better than they did in the first leg. Liverpool has not scored at Chelsea in a long time and it will be hard to get more than one. I think Chelsea will edge this one 2-1, but would not be surprised to see it finish 1-1 and go to penalties.

If Barcelona couldn't score at home against a make shift United back four they won't score at Old Trafford, but even if they do United will score at least two. Ferguson will finally let them attack and go for the win, after two games of having them set up not to lose. United to win 2-0 or maybe a nervous 2-1.

RE: Champions League Semi Finals 2008
United and Chelsea both have slight (but clear [if that makes sense]) advantages going into the games, and if Rooney is unfit then it will be a very close encounter at OT. Messi should play the full 90 minutes this time around, and I reckon Fergie will cheese off the London faithful by approaching this match cautiously too. This will be tight, but I think Man Utd will come through to play their 2nd final in their 15 years (or so) of dominating English football. (Sorry I couldnt resist - and yes, I know were crap Wink)
Chelsea without Essien are lightweight and easy to run over - this is why I am not overly confident about Wednesdays game, thats said I will not be surprised if we do end up in Moscow simply because we are capable of getting a result.
Man Utd scored their first goal at the Bridge since 02 or 04, and the last time LFC scored Houllier's 'next Zidane' Bruno Cheyrou netted a brace there. Liverpool can score at the Bridge - we've scored in every away game in the CL this season and we are the current top scoreres in the competition - and even if he gets bullied again - Torres is capable of scoring in any situation. It will be cautious, and we will see Mourinho-esque tactics of tight compact play, with no width and attacking on the break. Liverpool have to come with a positive attitude, but have to learn to keep the ball away from home a bit better.
At best we'll get a 1-1 and ET and pens - and who knows what can happen there?
Although I fear a 1-0 defeat - I know - not like a Liverpool fan to be so pessimistic ahead of a CL game.

We all know that Chelsea have the advantage and will probably go through, if they don't it will either be something special from Liverpool or they will go through luckily.. pennies etc...

Its the Barca united game that i think will be good.. i mean im sorry to say this but all you united fans taking it for granted, Barca can easily turn it on and beat you, i mean don't get me wrong your team is superb.. but i do think that this aint gonna be as easy as some of you say..

I don't think anyone thinks it will be easy, it will be a close game, but playing at home should be enough to see us through.
