Vukojevic: Celtic target?

Buoys check on Croat
Celtic linked with Vukojevic bid

Celtic have been strongly linked with a bid for Croatian international Ognjen Vukojevic.

The 24-year-old is one of the most promising players in Croatia and is being tipped to follow Luka Modric out of Dinamo Zagreb.

Modric joined Tottenham in a huge £16.5million deal - but Vukojevic would cost less than a third of that.

It is reported in Croatia that Dinamo are bracing themselves for a £4million offer from Celtic - although is far from clear whether the club would accept that.

Vice-president Zdravko Mamic is open to discussing a deal - but it seems he may wait until after Euro 2008 - when the player's value could rise significantly with a good performance.

Vukojevic is seen as the long-term successor for Niko Kovac in the national side, although coach Slaven Bilic could yet hand him a starring role in Austria & Switzerland.

RE: ---!!!Transfer Thread for Spl 2008!!!---

Well josh , the Kenny Miller story has been mentioned alot over the course of the season and Miller has not denied wanting a move back to scotland.

Fulham had actually signed Cousin but the deal fell through because fifa did not allow it !

And steve davis is loving life in scotland and he has also supported Rangers all his life !

- So this " Paper Talk " could be true m8 Wink !

We (rovers) was linked with your very own Motherwell captain Paul Quinn. Well apparently our interest has cooled after someone broke his jaw outside a nightclub in Wishaw. He is an idiot by all accounts so would suit our bad boy image nicely. He got arrested for assault last summer after knocking someone out in a nightclub! He should avoid nightclubs by the look of it...

RE: ---!!!Transfer Thread for Spl 2008!!!---

Rangers have been sent a stern warning by Watford that "big money" is needed to sign defender Danny Shittu.

Watford coach Malky Mackay has sounded the warning after Walter Smith revealed he is keen to secure the services of the centre-back.

Shittu has been a regular feature in Watford's promotion chasing season making 38 league appearances and amassing an impressive nine goals in all competitions.

The Nigerian international was also included in the Championship Team of the Season despite the Hornets missing out on promotion.

Impressive form

Mackay reveals that the club would not want to lose Shittu, who cost them £1.6million in 2006, but insists each player has his price.

"He's under contract and it would be a big money signing," Mackay told the Scotsman.

"As far as how much, God knows. Whether the club would want to sell him or not I don't know but everyone has their price."
